The Second Coming of Jesus Christ can be viewed as the fulfillment of the hopes & aspirations of the faithful Saints of the ages, (Old & New Testament). With particular emphasis, in this Church Age to the hope expressed & affirmed in the words of the Nicene Creed...
...He Shall Come Again in Glory To Judge both the Quick and the Dead.

Traditional views see the the Second Coming of Jesus Christ as ONE event. However it can be defined in TWO specific stages...

• First the Rapture, the coming of Jesus Christ FOR His Saints.
• Second the Revelation, the coming of Jesus Christ WITH His Saints.

The exact time period between the Rapture & Revelation is a much discussed aspect of eschatology. The fact that very sincere Christians & scholars can hold to differing views on the subject, suggest that it should be categorised as one of the mysteries of prophecy!

The Blessed Hope could also be considered to have several components:

• The Kingdom in Mystery Form Through Salvation
• The Signs of the Times
• The Great Tribulation
• The Rapture of the Church
• The Battle of Armageddon
• The Revelation of the Lord Jesus Christ
• The Establishment of the Millennium Kingdom
• The New Heaven & New Earth, the Eternal Kingdom

Some commentators insist that the Blessed Hope is in fact a "pre-tribulation rapture".
Would this then, mean that assuming they are correct and a "pre-trib. rapture" takes place...
that all those remaining on the earth are then left bereft of any hope?
With the knowledge that mankinds darkest hour, the Great Tribulation precedes the coming of the Kingdom of God, then this period MORE than any other in history demands the provision & knowledge of a Blessed Hope! It should be remembered that all the martyred Saints of the Church-age have gladly laid down their lives for their Lord, looking for the same Blessed Hope. For them any discussion on the timing of the Rapture would have been fruitless & pointless.

The Blessed Hope is effectively the consumation & realisation of the expectations dreams & True Hope of the righteous Saints of ages passed, as well as those who are alive at His appearing.

The Blessed Hope brings the establishment of the Perpetually Prayed for & much longed for Kingdom of God.

It is the Mighty King exercising the Judgments of scripture. it is the opportunity for the Saints to Worship Him face to face at the Holy City in complete liberty. It is the accomplishment of the Spiritual Warfare of the ages the battle belonging to the Lord. It is the time for Restoration of the planet ravaged by the tribulation period. It is the fulfillment of the Desire of All Nations bringing to pass the Written Plans of the Ages, writing a new story for those who have been rejected, downtrodden and despised.

Where the story of the rich man & Lazarus has been re-played, throughout the age in cities & towns across the continents. The rich are sent away empty handed, cast into the outer darkness where there is a weeping and a gnashing of teeth. With the "Lazarus" types finding the comfort & luxury that they were deprived of by the rich.

Even those who were deprived of the opportunity to live have a new beginning. From the Final Countdown to the Final Touchdown on the Mount of Olives.The level of destruction and damage inflicted upon the planet throughout the great tribulation will require a supernatural resurrection to effect the fulfillment of prophecy. The new natural order of things being beyond anything presently imaginable. The very characteristics of nature being changed dramatically.

It has been suggested that all these prophecies sound too good to be true, when in reality they are too true to be just good!

Another important consideration regarding the Blessed Hope is that while the meeting of the Saints with the Lord, also referred to as the Bride & Bridegroom, is an event of great anticipation & excitement. Any betrothed couple separated for a time, whilst looking forward to the time of being reunited with great watchfulness would also be considering their future lives together, so their anticipation of the event goes beyond one momentary celebration to continuing & everlasting joys! Similarly the Blessed Hope must also include the Millenium Kingdom which precedes the Eternal Kingdom.
The unfathomable promise of the Gospel is that of the free gift of Eternal Life, as such the Blessed Hope is a Hope stretching into eternity!
