Can ye not discern the Signs of the Times?

The Pharisees also with the Sadducees came, and tempting desired him that he would show them a sign from heaven. He answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red. And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowering. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times?

Matthew 16:1-3

The Lord Jesus Christ rebuked the Pharisees & Sadducees for failing to discern the "Signs of the Times". Perhaps similar words of rebuke would be appropriate, in repect of the failure of the Apostate Church to excercise the same discernment! Asking the same question now, with even a cursory glance at the scriptures leaves us in no doubt that...

...by the grace of God we can discern the signs!

The words of the Lord Jesus Christ in Matthew 24, are sometimes referred to as a Mini Book of Revelation. A study of the Revelation of John draws a parallel between the Gospel Signs with the Seal Judgments. As such further Confirming Signs become apparent in the Revelation & are as follows...

• Television - an opportunity for all people to witness events simultaneously - (Revelation 1:7; 11:9)
• Destructive weaponry, particularly nuclear armaments, (a great sword!) - (Revelation 6:4)
• Rich getting richer, even super rich, poor increasing & getting poorer -
  (Revelation 6:6)
• Death coming through hunger, war & the beasts of the earth -
  (Revelation 6:8)
• Military & governments prepared with nuclear fall-out shelters -
  (Revelation 6:15)
• Potential emergence of the Kings of the East military killing machine -
  (Revelation 9:14-16)
• Babylon reborn via New Age, New World Order & Revived Roman Empire - (Revelation 13:1)
• Cloning & Genetic engineering - (Revelation 13:14 -15)
• Mark of the Beast cashless monetary system - (Revelation 13:16-18)
• River Euphrates river being dried up by Turkish hydro-electric schemes? - (Revelation 16:12)

In Matthew Chapter 24...

• Jesus Christ describes these signs as the "beginning of sorrows " (verse 8)
• Following this we are told...
  "this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations, and then shall the end come." (verse 14)
• Following this is a warning of an event referred to as the Great Tribulation.
  "For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be." (verse 21)
• This is one of the most irrefutable & fundamental elements of future prophecy!
• This event is confirmed by the writings of the Apostles & the Prophets!
• The Signs heralding the imminence of this event are clear for all to see!

Observing current world events coupled with a serious study of
bible prophecy leave us in no doubt that we are....
"The Children of the Apocalypse!"
