And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him
was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make
war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns;
and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.
And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called
The Word of God. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon
white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of his mouth
goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he
shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the
fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And he hath on his vesture and on
his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

The Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ...
is referred over 300 times
throughout the New Testament writings.
Only four, of the 27 N.T. books, make no specific mention of this event...
(Paul's letters to the Galatians & Philemon...2 John & 3 John).
The Revelation of John, (a publishers heading), should more accurately be called:
- the Revelation of Jesus Christ, or...
- the Revelation of the Blessed Hope.
The terms referring the Second Coming in the original text are:
- Parousia - meaning: Coming; Arrival; Presence
- Apokalypsis - meaning: Revelation; Revealing; Unveiling
- Epiphaneia - meaning: Manifestation;
The Second Coming or Blessed Hope refers to:
the Physical, Bodily,
Appearance & Presence of the Lord Jesus Christ,
(N.B. Contrary to so many false teachings that prevail in the new-age,
movement it is
NOT some obscure concept of a coming of a cosmic christ which can only relate albeit remotely to the
coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, & throughout the Church-age an event which these new-agers
reject as having any relevance to their 'superior spirituality'.)
This Second Coming is the climactic, central event of the Revelation of John...
with the decisive conflict
between the forces of good and evil at the
Battle of Armageddon and
heralding the beginning of the Millennial Kingdom.
The First coming of Jesus Christ...
(certainly the most verifiable event in history),
was clearly foretold by
the Old Testament Prophets.
The Second Coming is also
confirmed repeatedly...
as a glorious future event by both Old & New Testament writers alike.
Jesus, was rejected by his people the first time...
for his failure to come
as a Conquering King,
(this refers in fact to the 2nd coming),
&
because of their own failure to see the various scriptures...
related to the
suffering servant, (Isa. 53) etc. i.e. Jesus dying for the sins of mankind
as the Lamb of God, (1st coming).
However, Bible believing Christians are without excuse
for failing to recognize the significant differences between the first and
second comings with the benefit of standing On This Side of the Cross!
with the Blessing of the Holy Spirit to lead into all truth...John 16.13.
The Second Coming is...
- The Physical, Bodily,
- Glorious Reappearance of
- The Lord Jesus Christ, on Earth,
- As King of Kings, & Lord of Lords
- Rewarding the Saints
- Destroying evil, seeing Satan bound for 1000 years,
- Establishing the Kingdom of God.
It is also now a present reality in mystery form, in the
hearts and minds of the true believers in Jesus Christ,
who continuing in Faith, Hope & Love Watching & Praying;
and are preparing for the event that will herald a splendid new age.
This is the Millennium Kingdom, (Rev. 20), an
unprecedented time of Love, Joy, Peace, & Restoration
with the Lord Jesus
Christ ruling as King of Kings & Lord of Lords!
Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he
fought in the day of battle. And his feet shall stand in that day upon the
mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of
Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the
west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain
shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.
Zechariah 14:3-4
And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written,
KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. And I saw an angel standing in the sun;
and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the
midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of
the great God; That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of
horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both
free and bond, both small and great. And I saw the
beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together
to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.
And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet
that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had
received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image.
These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.
And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse,
which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled
with their flesh.

From the Throne...to the Threshing Floor!

And, behold, here cometh a chariot of men, with a couple of horsemen.
And he answered and said, Babylon is fallen, is fallen; and all the graven
images of her gods he hath broken unto the ground. O my threshing, and
the corn of my floor: that which I have heard of the LORD of hosts,
the God of Israel, have I declared unto you.
Isaiah 21:9-10
I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after
me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall
baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire: Whose fan is in his hand,
and he will thoroughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the
garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.

The Harvest at the End of the Age...
Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is
likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field: But while men slept,
his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.
But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared
the tares also. So the servants of the householder came and said unto him,
Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it
tares? He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto
him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up? But he said, Nay; lest
while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.
Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will
say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in
bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.
Matthew 13:24-30
And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud one sat like
unto the Son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a
sharp sickle. And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud
voice to him that sat on the cloud, Thrust in thy sickle, and reap: for the
time is come for thee to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe.
And he that sat on the cloud thrust in his sickle on the earth; and the
earth was reaped.
Revelation 14:14-16
And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the
dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward
unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear
thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the
earth.Revelation 11:18
And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of
many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia:
for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth. Let us be glad and rejoice, and
give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife
hath made herself ready. And to her was granted that she should be
arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the
righteousness of saints. And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they
which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto
