Does the watchman sleep?
Never taking time to peep,
caring for the sheep!
Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except
the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.
Psalms 127:1
Control & surveillance is now the order of the day. With the Earth & it's inhabitants continually
mapped & surveyed by satellites. Check this out for yourself courtesy of: terraserver.com. Security is now one of the most phenomenal growth industries & considered the "final solution" & "panacea" for the increasing problems of mankind...
5...IS trustworthiness questioned IF a senior figure blatantly/publicly tells
a lie? (Exodus 20:16) Particularly when that lie
is intended to cover some other sin! (Exodus 20:14)
6...If we can't trust those in authority, where is this obsession with security leading?
7...If the watchman himself is, at the very least unreliable or dishonest, or even worse, a crook, or a psychopath...
What happens to security?
"Who will watch the Watchman?"
All ye beasts of the field, come to devour, yea all ye beasts in the forest.
His watchmen are blind: they are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they
cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber. Yea, they are greedy
dogs which can never have enough, and they are shepherds that cannot
understand: they all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from
his quarter. Come ye, say they, I will fetch wine, and we will fill
ourselves with strong drink; and to morrow shall be as this day, and much
more abundant.
Isaiah 56:9-12
"Anyone who is not an anarchist agrees with having a policeman at the corner of the street;
but the danger at present is that of finding the policeman half-way down the chimney or even
under the bed." - What I Saw In America, 1922
Whilst the Lord's Watchman announces the Blessed Hope...
I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to
see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved.
And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain
upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. For the vision is yet for
an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie:
though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will
not tarry. Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him:
but the just shall live by his faith.
Habakkuk 2:1-4
How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good
tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that
publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!
Thy watchmen shall lift up the voice; with the voice together shall they
sing: for they shall see eye to eye, when the LORD shall bring again Zion.
